Types of Tests Available

We offer hundreds of tests, ranging from individual markers to full panels. Some of the most popular include:

  1. Diabetes check — HbA1c (glycated haemoglobin)
    • What it checks: Measures average blood glucose control over the previous ~2–3 months — used for diagnosing and monitoring diabetes.
    • Key biomarker: HbA1c (reported in mmol/mol or %).
    • Why useful: Gives a more stable picture than a single glucose reading and is used for diagnosis, monitoring and treatment decisions.
  2. Cholesterol / Lipid Profile
    • What it checks: Assesses lipid-related cardiovascular risk. Often used as part of heart-health or well person checks.
    • Key biomarkers: Total cholesterol, HDL (good) cholesterol, LDL (bad) cholesterol, triglycerides, plus common ratios (TC:HDL etc.).
    • Why useful: Identifies raised cholesterol and guides lifestyle or medication decisions to reduce heart disease risk.
  3. Thyroid Profile
    • What it checks: Evaluates thyroid function (under- or over-activity) and can include antibody tests if autoimmune thyroid disease is suspected.
    • Key biomarkers: TSH (thyroid-stimulating hormone), Free T4, Free T3
    • Why useful: Explains symptoms such as weight change, fatigue, temperature sensitivity, and menstrual irregularities.
  4. Liver Function Tests (LFTs)
    • What it checks: Markers of liver health and bile-flow; used to detect liver inflammation, bile-duct problems or drug/alcohol impact.
    • Key biomarkers: ALT (alanine aminotransferase), AST (aspartate aminotransferase), ALP (alkaline phosphatase), GGT, total bilirubin, albumin, total protein.
    • Why useful: Abnormal LFTs prompt further investigation (e.g. hepatitis, fatty liver, bile obstruction).
  5. Kidney Function
    • What it checks: Kidney filtering and electrolyte balance — important for general health, medicines monitoring and blood-pressure management.
    • Key biomarkers: Creatinine, eGFR (calculated), urea
    • Why useful: Picks up dehydration, acute kidney injury or chronic kidney disease and helps guide medication safety.
  6. Iron Status Profile
    • What it checks: Measures current iron in blood and stored iron — used to diagnose iron-deficiency anaemia or iron overload.
    • Key biomarkers: Serum iron, ferritin (iron stores), transferrin saturation, total iron-binding capacity (TIBC), Unsaturated Iron-Binding Capacity
    • Why useful: Common cause of fatigue and breathlessness; results guide iron supplementation or further investigation.
  7. Prostate Profile
    • What it checks: Prostate gland markers — useful for prostate health monitoring (screening is not diagnostic but flags the need for further assessment).
    • Key biomarkers: Total prostate specific antigen (PSA), free PSA, free:total PSA ratio
    • Why useful: Raised PSA requires GP/urology review to decide next steps (imaging/biopsy).
  8. Heart Health Profile
    • What it checks: Combined markers that give a quick cardiovascular risk snapshot.
    • Key biomarkers: Lipid profile (total/HDL/LDL/TG), HbA1c, high sensitivity c-reactive protein (hs-CRP).
    • Why useful: A compact check to highlight modifiable risks for heart disease and to inform GP follow-up.
  9. Allergy Profile
    • What it checks: A very wide range of 295 allergens from categories including pollens (grass, tree, weed), moulds & yeasts, foods (milk, egg, nuts, fruits, seafood), pets & animals (pet danders), insects & insect venoms, mites, spices, seeds, etc. It uses IgE-based testing (including molecular allergens) to detect immune sensitisation, plus total IgE levels.
    • Key biomarker: Specific IgE antibodies to each allergen tested — shows which allergen(s) your immune system overreacts to.
    • Why useful: Enables identification of exactly which substances trigger allergic reactions, so you can avoid them and reduce symptoms. Useful for hay-fever, asthma, skin rashes, food sensitivities, digestive discomfort and unexplained allergic symptoms. Helps inform treatment or avoidance strategies and improves quality of life. Because it tests such a large panel, it helps catch unexpected allergens and cross-reactivities that smaller panels may miss.

Health Checks

  1. General Health Check
    1. What it checks: A broad “MOT” style screen covering multiple organ systems in one go. This test combines many of the most important markers into a single profile, making it ideal for anyone wanting a baseline check-up or to investigate vague symptoms such as tiredness.
    2. Key biomarkers:
      1. Kidney function: Creatinine, eGFR, urea
      2. Liver function (LFTs): ALT, ALP, GGT, bilirubin, albumin.
      3. Diabetes: HbA1c.
      4. Cholesterol: Total cholesterol, HDL, LDL, triglycerides, cholesterol ratios
      5. Iron status: Serum iron
      6. Bone: Calcium, adjusted calcium
      7. Gout: Urate (uric acid)
    3. Why useful: this single package provides a rounded picture of overall health and highlights early signs of issues such as anaemia, diabetes, high cholesterol, or liver/kidney problems It’s a popular choice for routine check-ups, reassurance, or as a starting point before more targeted tests.
  2. Premier General Health Check
    1. What it checks: A more comprehensive health assessment, the Premier General Health Check, goes beyond the standard General Health Check by analysing an even wider range of biomarkers. This test is designed for those who want a deeper insight into their health, identifying potential risks across key body systems such as blood health, liver, kidneys, heart, hormones, and metabolism.
    2. Key biomarkers include:
      1. Full blood count: Red & white blood cells, haemoglobin, platelets
      2. Kidney function: Creatinine, urea, eGFR
      3. Liver function: ALT, AST, ALP, GGT, bilirubin, albumin, total protein, globulin
      4. Diabetes: HbA1c
      5. Cholesterol: Total cholesterol, HDL, LDL, triglycerides, cholesterol ratios
      6. Iron status: Iron, total iron-binding capacity, transferrin saturation, unsaturated iron-binding capacity
      7. Muscle & bone: Adjusted calcium, calcium, creatine kinase (CK)
      8. Gout: Urate (uric acid)
    3. Why useful: This test gives a full overview of your health by examining multiple systems in one blood draw. It is particularly valuable for early detection of hidden conditions, monitoring overall wellness, or establishing a detailed baseline for future health tracking. The Premier Check is ideal for people who want the most thorough health assessment available, providing reassurance or guidance for lifestyle and medical decisions
  3. Well Person Premier Plus Profile
    1. What it checks: The Well Person Premier Plus Profile is an enhanced wellness screen — more detailed than the Premier General Health Check but just under the most extensive profiles. It’s designed for those who want a comprehensive insight into multiple body systems, to detect early risk markers, support longevity, and monitor wellness proactively.
    2. Key biomarker examples:
      1. Thyroid: TSH & Free T4
      2. Full blood count: Red & white blood cells, haemoglobin, platelets
      3. Kidney function: Creatinine, urea, eGFR
      4. Liver function: ALT, AST, ALP, GGT, bilirubin, albumin, total protein, globulin
      5. Diabetes: HbA1c
      6. Cholesterol: Total cholesterol, HDL, LDL, triglycerides, cholesterol ratios
      7. Iron status: Iron, total iron-binding capacity, transferrin saturation, unsaturated iron-binding capacity, ferritin
      8. Muscle & bone: Adjusted calcium, calcium, creatine kinase (CK)
      9. Gout: Urate (uric acid)
    3. Why useful: Offers a much wider snapshot of health than basic checks, giving you early warning of issues before symptoms appear (e.g. thyroid problems, elevated cholesterol, iron deficiency, kidney stress). Helps identify lifestyle or medical interventions earlier, which often means better outcomes. Good for people who want a thorough wellness check — e.g. those with family history of metabolic disease, or anyone who wants peace of mind. Because many of these conditions don’t cause obvious symptoms, this kind of check can highlight hidden health risks
